These 6-inch thin LED ceiling lights are a great way to upgrade lighting in a dark room. Our bedroom has been really dark since we moved in years ago, it has lots of trees in the backyard that block natural sunlight and the light on our ceiling fan just doesn't do much at all. I've wanted to install can lights for years but finally had to go up in the attic space to check on a roof leak and it was very accessible over this room so decided to give this a shot myself. I've installed lights in another part of the house and have done lots of other upgrades, so I am pretty familiar with how to DIY this kind of project.I used a nifty ceiling tile and drywall cutter attachment to my drill that comes with an adjustable width hole saw and a bucket to contain the dust. It worked great for cutting the holes. What we found online was that the lights should be double the distance from each other that they are from the wall, so since our room was about 160" deep we put them just shy of 40" in from the walls.The only criticism I have for these lights is with the junction box. The box is tiny and even though it has three knockouts there is no way you could get three wires in here. I ran them all in series so one of the boxes only had one wire but the other three had two wires going in different knockouts. It was difficult to get the wires and nuts all inside the junction box and close it, and then the metal was so thin it didn't hold shut well at all, so I ended up wrapping the junction box and lid with electrical tape to make sure it stayed closed. Not a huge deal, but if they just made it a little bigger it would solve that problem.I love that these lights are adjustable for color temperature so we could closely match the existing lighting in the room. We went with the middle option of 3500K and they look great. And these lights are BRIGHT! Almost too bright. I have this on a smart switch and can set the max brightness and may set it at 50%, that's how bright these lights are. That's a good problem to have though, I would much rather them be too bright than not bright enough.Overall, these lights are bright, easy to install, and versatile with 5 different choices of color temperature. And they're affordable. I highly recommend them.
