Speaking of retractable screens, the folks at Phantom are expanding the possible applications for this category. If you have an opening at your home that you would love to screen in, but you don’t want the screen there all the time, then a retractable screen is a perfect way to go.

Now, this particular one from Phantom Screens has got a lot of really cool features in it. First of all it’s pleated into kind of an accordion design. And one of the big advantages there is it takes up very little room as it retracts into its housing. You know if you had a regular spool it would take up a lot of room on this side of the opening.

Also, it has almost a nonexistent threshold, a track on the bottom of it. Which the big advantage there is that you won’t be tripping over it, and it makes it very easy if you’re using a wheelchair to wheel in and out. That way you can really enjoy closing in a large opening and let the outside in without letting the bugs in.

If you’re interested in keeping bugs out of the garage, Breezy Living has an interesting option to do that, conveniently and inexpensively.
