Police investigating double shooting at south Toledo bar

Toledo police are on the scene of a double shooting in south Toledo Sunday night.

The shooting happened at the South Side Liquor Box at the corner of Western Avenue and Broadway.

The owners of the bar said the shooting happened on Western Ave as they were closing.

They said as soon as they noticed the man in the street, they carried him inside the bar to call 911 and compress his wounds.

The owners said the second victim was found shot half a block away.

When police arrived to the scene, they found 35-year-old Matthew Petrey suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police were also told the other man, 28-year-old Michael Jaso, was shot int he leg and was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle.

Petrey was also taken to the hospital.

Police say both men are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Western Avenue is currently taped off and closed to traffic.

Police are questioning all the people inside the bar as part of the investigation.

Those at the bar were celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

No arrests have been made at this time.
