Seal-It introduces PLA shrink film to product line

20 Dec.,2023

Seal-It, Inc. of Farmingdale, New York, has introduced Plastic Suppliers’ EarthFirst TDO Shrink film to its existing group of PVC, PETG and OPS shrink films. The new film is made with Natureworks PLA corn-based resin, is not petroleum based and is environmentally friendly and compostable. It is heat shrinkable and suitable for any shrink sleeve label project.

For the last 20 years, Seal-It has manufactured shrink labels and tamper-evident bands from PVC, PETG & OPS. The company believes that EarthFirst will make a great addition to its family of films, as it has many of the same properties as other films including excellent machineability, clarity, printability, and shrinkage (up to 75 per cent).  However, EarthFirst differs from other films as it is made from an annually renewable resource – corn.

Sharon Lobel, president and CEO of Seal-It, stated: ‘Shrink film is Seal-It’s only business and it’s always exciting to bring something new to our marketplace.’

Seal-It, Inc is a manufacturer, converter and printer of heat shrinkable films that are used for tamper-evident bands, shrink labels and sleeves for mulitpacks. The company prints up to 10 colors in rotogravure or modified flexographic and operate out of two facilities in Farmingdale, New York.
